Labour Day Weekend

Has come and gone. We had company for two days and it was WONDERFUL! When you have friends that you can fall asleep watching TV with? You know they are for life!

Meals were casual due to necessity. I was using a mandolin to slice potatoes for supper, and added a bit of finger to the mix. OUCH. So, the table remained unfussy, and the food equally so! There is something comforting about a roast chicken dinner, isn't there? I think it is the universal comfort food. Good for me, not so much for the chicken!

Sunday, we checked out the Nygard store. I had no idea that there were clothes that fit me there. Not only that? I did not require the largest size! The saleslady also told me that the line I chose was the smallest fitting of the bunch, so bonus! Once again my dear friend has opened my eyes to the fact that my body is changing, no matter how much I complain about the speed. The shape is definitely different, and I can see that now. I am thrilled that I can go to "normal" stores to buy now. Who knew? Anyway, here is a picture of the jacket I bought:

I will be able to use this as a suit jacket this winter, over a black dress, with a black skirt or pants, and jeans. For the fall? It will be warm enough to use as a light coat. It is a bit more expensive than I would have liked, but very versatile. I will try my best to wear it to death before it becomes too big, just to get my money's worth out of it! Unfortunately? My jacket does not narrow in at the waist like this! But it does fit me very well!
